From Thrift Store to Runway

Earlier this year, I got the chance to show off my thrifting talents. I participated in a fashion show as a wardrobe stylist to benefit Snooty Giggle Dog Rescue. Each wardrobe stylist had to create a complete look including hair and makeup with a $30 wardrobe budget (excluding shoes). Luckily, I’m a frugal thrifter anyways so this challenge was going to be a piece of cake! I assembled a group of extraordinary women- all experts in their field to be on my team. Even though we didn’t win the fashion show contest, it was a fantastic experience working with great individuals- other stylists/clothing designers, hair and makeup MUA’s, and local models. Check out all the fashion show footage and my 3 looks- all sustainable items put together from local thrift stores(Goodwill and Southern Thrift) to create a LOOK! My theme for my collection was “Embrace Your Style”. Each outfit represents the fashion-forward woman in an outfit that will turn heads no matter what event she attends to represent how she embraces her style.

Can you spot the herpersonalstyle trends used?

  • Oversized Blazer
  • Dad Sneakers
  • Two Piece set
